I never was much of a cat person until the day a stray ended up at my husband's work and we took him into our home. Since then, we've added two shelter cats! American Shorthair cats have a mind of their own. They are very affectionate to their owners and seem to not really care to bother with strangers. The cats that we have owned love to play with each other and do not have a problem with our three dogs. Overall they are easy pets to take care of - they love to snuggle and play! Just be sure to constantly keep the litter boxes clean or else they will definitely make messes for you elsewhere.
