Im more of a dog person. But on our anniversary, my lady asked for a kitten that we had just seen in a small pet store. I never had a thing for cats, but that night when we got home, she warmed up to me right away. She was very playful, more so than i had thought cats to be. As she grew up, she lost alot of her playfulness, and became way more independent. She started becoming very, VERY vocal when she went into heat. And after a few nights, we had to spay her. When my father lost my mom, we gave him nala because he was lonely. She had never met bim before, but warmed right up to him and showed him plenty of attention. She had gained quite a bit of weight being there, and we had noticed that she had a dramatic increase in attitude. Somewhat agressive. We learned that cats can sometimes get irritable and angry when they are overweight. So we switched her diet, and she went right back to normal. One thing, even though she is shorthair, you still see alot of white hairs on my fathers black socks. If your looking for a low maintenance, sometimes affectionate animal, this is your best bet.
