Magic, a Hemingway Cat

By

United States

Posted Jan 31, 2013

Magic is an American Shorthaired black cat. However, she is a Hemingway cat, meaning she has six toes on each paw. Hemingway, the writer, kept dozens of them in his house in Florida.

The Good...Magic is a very beautiful, velvety furred black cat. She is extremely low maintenance and doesn't require much brushing. She has been remarkably healthy, only going for her yearly checkups. She is affectionate with me on her terms, demanding stroking and that happens every now and then.

The Not So Good...I'm not certain if her aggression is due to breed or her genetic oddity, but she is a very aggressive cat. She has a preference for me, her owner, and wants nothing to do with other people. While she doesn't bite strangers, she hisses at them and runs away to hide under nearby furniture.
