The Best Cat

Pumpkin was my parents' cat that had trouble adjusting to their home, particularly he could not make the constant trips up and down stairs so I took him in. He was familiar with me so he was at home very quickly. All I can say about this cat is that he was the sweetest animal. He was a lap cat, and was happiest spending an hour napping on my lap while I watched television or played a videogame. He was a very large cat and did not like to exercise like other cats. He was also very furry, which made discerning his true size somewhat difficult. He loved to be pet and fed, always in the order. The downside to owning Pumpkin was that he began to have some serious bladder control issues, but never any ill temperament. When it became apparent that he was experiencing discomfort, I took him to the vet. They told me that he was in late stage kidney failure, and recommended putting him down to avoid significant pain. I spent his last night at home with him in my lap and then took him to the vet the following morning, and my very old friend was put down. All things considered, I don't know if it was just my pet or the breed, but he was really the best cat.
