My American Bob, Max, is 17 years old and he is, by far, one of the best cats I've ever owned. He is extremely healthy and active, even at his old age. He has always been extremely friendly with people, dogs, and other cats. He's a little shy when meeting new people, but he warms right up after a few minutes. He is a quiet cat and has never been destructive to furniture. Max is more loving and social than some other cat breeds I have owned. My friends joke that he's more like a dog than a cat in the way he follows you around and always wants to be petted. He even wags his nub like a dog when he's happy. Max has been a great family pet and would recommend the American Bob breed to any family wanting a friendly, unique cat.
