Oreo the Affectionate One

Cats...where do I begin? Cats and I just get each other. My Oreo is no exception. He is affectionate and kind, while also independent and adventurous. My family first acquired him after I had gone to camp during the summer between my junior and senior year of high school. There was a litter available for free and we instantly fell in love with his affectionate personality. Before arriving at our home, he only knew the outdoors, so trying to create a primarily “indoor cat,” proved difficult. He had a hard time learning the concept of the litter box and loved sneaking out the door to roam our neighborhood. Other than his obvious need to stay in touch with his outdoor/wild side, we have never had any issues with him. He loves our dog and regularly attempts to cuddle with her, though she falsely suspects he is not so genuine and regularly impedes his affection. It is a dance I love to watch between them; I hope she gives in soon, because he remains persistent.
