Theodore, King of the Cats

Theodore was the first cat my husband and I owned. He was purchased as a kitten from a breeder, and named after the Christian king of Abyssinia (b. 1820). He grew to be sleek, deep gold in colour, with a fine head that could tuck under my chin. He would abandon himself on my chest and purr and purr and purr. He was exceptionally playful and intelligent, fetching scrunched up tinfoil balls like a retriever. His personality was more like a Siamese, without the bad temper. He was very sweet, very loving, very playful. We had him neutered and it did not alter him disposition or activity. He was great with other cats in our family, and with the dog. He lived with us for 7 years, in an apartment, after which we moved to a house, which was not a good environment for him. This type of cat is highly territorial and will go to great lengths to chase other cats (not his homies) out of his space, which was his undoing. He was the most vivacious and sweet cat I have ever had, and I recommend this breed for a controlled environment.
