The basics:
Dorper Sheep and Katahdin Sheep are hair sheep breeds which are raised primarily for their meat. Hair sheep do not produce fleece, and therefor do not need to be sheared. Their summer coats consist of smooth, short hair.

Dorpers and Katahdin are crossed to produce a more muscular, lean sheep.
