Cheviot Sheep are raised for their meat. They are hornless and their white faces and legs are wool-free. The muzzle and feet are black. The long fleece is dense and springy.

The English Leicester sheep is hornless and medium-bodied with strong shoulders and a flat back. The face is bluish white, the lips and nose are black, and the ears are thin, large, and deep blue in color. The fleece is dense and bulky with a lustrous shine and a well-defined crimp along its full length.
