The Ixworth chicken is a new breed which was developed in 1932 in the village of Ixworth in Suffolk, England. It was created by crossing White Old English Game, Indian (Cornish) Game, White Sussex, White Orpington and White Minorca. The goal was to create a chicken with white skin for the English table market.
