The Extremeña Azul Chicken is a native Spanish breed. It was created in the 1980s, by birds located in Extremadura. The breed today is very rare and is no longer recognized. Thankfully, interest in the breed has recently been increasing, and there are many trying to bring the breed back to its former glory.
