The basics:
The Bianca di Saluzzo is an Italian breed of poultry, that originated in north-western Italy. The breed was very popular in the Piemonte region, and surrounding areas, until the 1960’s. It was around this time that the poultry industry developed hybrids that were capable of producing more eggs than the traditional breeds. Today, the Bianca di Saluzzo is very rare, and is preserved by several agricultural high schools.
