Species group: Marine Angelfish
Other common names:
Scientific name: Holacanthus clarionesis
The Clarion Angelfish has an orange brown body with vertical blue stripes. The dorsal fin is continuous and pronounced. A blue stripe runs across the face through the eye. The caudal fin is rounded.
Size: 7-8 inches
This fish is considered to be semi-aggressive and territorial in nature. This is not a reef-compatible fish because it has a tendency to nip at corals.
A single Clarion Angelfish requires a tank size of at least 70 gallons to thrive well. The fish requires hiding places for refuge and live rock for grazing. Clarions usually have difficulty acclimating to different tank conditions and are generally shy when first introduced to the tank.
