Species group: Mixed Breeds
Other name(s): Pom-Silk
RightPet does not advocate the intentional cross-breeding of purebred dogs. But the reality is that most dogs available for adoption at shelters and rescues are mixed breeds. We think it might be helpful to hear from owners of these mixes to see what traits can be found in these dogs who are desperately needing homes.
The first generation Pom-Silk is a cross between a pure Pomeranian and a pure Silky Terrier, although subsequent generations may have different proportions of the two breeds in the mix. This so-called designer hybrid is intended to create an apartment-sized toy that fits easily into many families.
Appearance / health:
While all mixed-breed dogs can vary in appearance, the Pom-Silk will be a small, cute toy. It's a matter of chance whether it looks more like the Silky Terrier or the Pomeranian.
Behavior / temperament:
While it's impossible to predict the exact personality of a mixed-breed dog, the odds are high that the Pom-Silk expects to be a portable pet that goes places with you. They shouldn't be left alone for long hours at a time.
