Species group: Mixed Breeds
Other name(s): Schneagle
RightPet does not advocate the intentional cross-breeding of purebred dogs. But the reality is that most dogs available for adoption at shelters and rescues are mixed breeds. We think it might be helpful to hear from owners of these mixes to see what traits can be found in these dogs who are desperately needing homes.
The first generation Schneagle is a cross between a pure Miniature Schnauzer and a pure Beagle, although subsequent generations may have different proportions of the two breeds in the mix.
Appearance / health:
While all mixed-breed dogs can vary in appearance, the Schneagle is a mid-sized animal that often has a Beagle's floppy ears.
Behavior / temperament:
While it's always difficult to predict the exact personality of a mix, owners can expect a devoted, energetic dog that loves to do things with their owners. Some of them may love to chew.
"The experience has been fantastic. I never thought I could handle any pet since I have been scared of dogs all my life. Cookie changed my perspective and made me regret waiting so long to answer my kids request to have a dog. Hard to imagine my life without her.<br>."
