Species group: Mixed Breeds
Other name(s): Pomston
RightPet does not advocate the intentional cross-breeding of purebred dogs. But the reality is that most dogs available for adoption at shelters and rescues are mixed breeds. We think it might be helpful to hear from owners of these mixes to see what traits can be found in these dogs who are desperately needing homes.
The first generation Pomston is a cross between a pure Boston Terrier and a pure Pomeranian, although subsequent generations may have different proportions of the two breeds in the mix. This so-called designer hybrid is intended to create an apartment-sized toy that fits easily into many families.
Appearance / health:
All mixed-breed dogs can vary in appearance, but you can expect the Pomston to be small and cute-- with some of them resembling the Pomeranian more than others.
Behavior / temperament:
While it's impossible to predict the exact personality of a mixed-breed dog, the Pomston is a cross of two popular companion breeds, and a well-socialized animal should make a devoted pet who loves to play with its human family.
