Is this dog right for you?

Species group:

Other name(s): Papastzu

The basics:
RightPet does not advocate the intentional cross-breeding of purebred dogs. But the reality is that most dogs available for adoption at shelters and rescues are mixed breeds. We think it might be helpful to hear from owners of these mixes to see what traits can be found in these dogs who are desperately needing homes.

The first generation Papastzu is a cross between a pure Papillon and a pure Shih Tzu, although subsequent generations may have different proportions of the two breeds in the mix. This so-called designer hybrid is intended to create an apartment-sized toy that fits easily into many families.

Appearance / health:
While it's impossible to predict the exact traits inherited by a mixed-breed dog, the Papastzu will be a tiny toy that's all kinds of cute.

Behavior / temperament:
While it's impossible to predict the exact personality of a mixed-breed dog, many owners report that their  Papillon / Shih Tzu Mix is a devoted portable pet that loves to be with its owner.

(We've had no luck finding any of these frisky fellas so far, even though we've put up wanted posters and everything! But don't worry, we're working on it!)
