Species group: Mixed Breeds

The basics:
RightPet does not advocate the intentional cross-breeding of purebred dogs. But the reality is that most dogs available for adoption at shelters and rescues are mixed breeds. We think it might be helpful to hear from owners of these mixes to see what traits can be found in these dogs who are desperately needing homes.

The pairing between a Labrador Retriever  and a Scottish Terrier  isn't all that common, but you may occasionally encounter this mix in a rescue.

Appearance / health:
It's impossible to predict the exact traits inherited by a mixed-breed dog. In this case, the appearance of your pet could be very different depending on whether the Lab  or the Scottie traits dominate.

Behavior / temperament:
While it's impossible to predict the exact personality of any mixed-breed dog, odds are high that the Labrador Retriever / Scottish Terrier Mix will be a fairly high energy animal that does best with an active, involved owner. Bored, neglected dogs could chew or dig.

from breeders/sellers

(Breeders and sellers have to jump through hoops to get RightPet listings, literally, we make them do circus tricks. Unfortunately no one has met our high acrobatic standards for this animal yet, but hopefully they will soon!)

from shelters/rescues

(We've had no luck finding any of these frisky fellas so far, even though we've put up wanted posters and everything! But don't worry, we're working on it!)
