I acquired this bird with my last husband. They tend to think their primary owner is their mate and are jealous of everyone else in the household. He used to dive bomb me and pull my hair if I showed affection to my husband, or even got too close in his presence. He never missed an opportunity to bite me and nearly bit my thumb off once. But he was very affectionate with my husband and rarely bit him. He would ride around on his shoulder. We left the door to his cage open during the day and he would fly around the house pooping everywhere. Sometimes in my hair. You couldn't leave anything on the counter or he'd get into it. You had to keep your purse zipped up or he'd take what he wanted. We used to take him for walks in the woods and it never failed, he'd fly 40 ft up a tree and my husband would have to climb up and get him. He could sing Yankee Doodle, wolf whistle and sound like the phone ringing - for hours on end - and was a good talker. He had a large vocabulary of about 50 phrases. Unfortunately, most of them were swear words. After 7 years I got a divorce and I'm not sure which I was happiest to see go, the husband or the bird.
