...well, they do flock together, don't they? Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum were our paired lovebirds, and a pleasure to own. Very different personalities, but each amiable. They really like to interact with you, which is nice as not all pet bird species do. Dee used to enjoy riding around in my pocket in the mornings while I got ready for work. They were both hand-raised, and that has a big impact on how affectionate they are with humans.

Lovebirds can be rather 'chatty', even late at night, but noise generally wasn't an issue overall. Dum, the male, kept getting a minor but annoying fungal infection, despite the fact that they were both clean and otherwise healthy. Nothing the vet did worked, but it did eventually clear on its own. Just a fluke?

Lovebirds love to CHEW! Stay on top of keeping them supplied with a constant supply of safe and interesting chew toys. I selected "recommend for adults" above only because there wasn't an option for older kids - these would be fine for the 10 and up crowd, with proper instruction. These friendly little birds make a pleasurable and fairly low maintenance addition to your home menagerie!
