Java Sparrows

Java Sparrows are an easy-to-care-for finch. They thrive on regular finch seed / pellet mixes and love green food and egg food as supplements. They are very active and do best in a large cage. Their large size can be intimidating to other finches but they are generally peaceful with other birds. When breeding, pairs should probably have their own cage. Java Sparrows are very intelligent and can be finger tamed if you get them as juveniles and really work with them, i.e. as soon as they leave the nest. Adult Java Sparrows, however, are pretty much untameable.
