A Dancing Bird

My experience with a conure is that my family purchased our bird, Fez, from a local Pet Smart while I was in high school. I don't current live with Fez, but see him when I'm home visiting and I did live with him for a few years.
My favorite thing that Fez does is dance to pop music. My mother is probably closest with Fez. He likes to be around people and will get pretty vocal if a bunch of people are in another room and he doesn't get to see what is going on. He hasn't been trained extensively, but is friendly with my mother and walks around our kitchen sometimes while eating breakfast.
Fez is very entertaining, active, and pretty. I haven't owned a bird on my own and don't think I would choose to do so mainly because of the difficulty in meeting the diet needs and I don't like cleaning the cage. Fez doesn't bite my mother but has bitten me before and is sometimes wary of strangers. When we adopted Fez we weren't really aware of how long birds live (he's got a lifespan of 20+ years). I think that's something to take into consideration when purchasing a bird as a pet.
He's definitely a lot of fun though and a very smart bird. It's interesting to see him figure out his toys and watch how happy he gets when he's blow dried after a bath.

Hi Caitlin. I just put a deposit down on a Golden Conure. Fell in love with the one in the shop. Will be until summer that I will be able to have mine. Person in shop said they were quiet enough for an apartment, but I have read on line that they are very noisy like most all conures. Now I'm worried and the green cheeked seems better. What is your experience with noise? Thanks.
