We got one bird of this kind when one of my uncle's died and took care of it while we found it another home. For whatever reason it picked one person(my mom) and she was the only one he would let pet him. If I so much as put my fingers in to give him more food he would try to bite me and he succeeded in doing so at least once. It screeched really loudly when there was anything it didn't like, which happened often and made no attempts to copy us or be nice.

Hi EllieB. I just put a deposit down on a Golden Conure. Fell in love with the one in the shop. Will be until summer that I will be able to have mine. Person in shop said they were quiet enough for an apartment, but I have read on line that they are very noisy like all conures. Had a halfmoon in college and he was crazy noisy and had to give him away as he had to live in closet all the time to keep him quite when I wasn't home as neighbors complained. What is your experience? Thanks.
