My roommate had an African Grey. When I first met him, I was very intimidated. This is a sizable bird and it was my first experience around bigger birds. I quickly fell in love with Einstein. He had so much personality and was extremely friendly.

He picked up phrases quickly and it took him no time at all to mimic my voice perfectly (which is actually quite disconcerting! lol) His vocabulary was very diverse and you could have long conversations with him. He would mimic different voices with each response which was very entertaining.

He had the run of the house and was rarely locked away in his cage. This is a beautiful bird that is truly a member of the family. They are long lived so this is a long term investment if you choose this bird species.
