Sunshine wasn't the best bird that came into our house, but she also wasn't the worst. She may have been the underlying factor as to why we gave up our birds, but it's not fair to place blame.

We got her from our neighbors, a young military couple with some young kids. They couldn't handle how loud she could get and how much attention she needed so mom offered to take her in. Sunshine really opened up to mom, but even then she was such a demanding bird.

She wanted to be outside her cage at all times and didn't handle very well when no one was paying attention to her. It seemed like she wanted someone, mom, to talk to her no matter what mom was doing.

She also took to plucking some feathers out, spending part of the time looking odd and almost naked around the neck. She could be nippy and sometimes she really didn't know how hard she bit. There had been a few times where her beak drew blood. She didn't want anyone else touching her too, only mom.

In the end, she was even too much for patient old mom to handle so we had to find her a nice home where she could get the attention she deserved and needed.
