I currently own 4 cockatiels and have owned the same species previously. Once the first bird passed, the house seemed empty without the bird singing away, so we decided to get some more. We now have an avery outside with 4 lovely cockatiels outside. Having an outside enclosure is nicer for them as they are not couped up inside a house all day. This allows them to have fresh air all the time and have more space to fly around and spread their wings.
Its great to wake up and hearing them signing outside with the other birds i.e pigeons. Really make the place livelier.
Birds are not too hard to look after, but like any animal they will need love and attention. You cannot leave birds just on their own. You will need re fill food and water almost every week. With having an avery built outside you do not have to clean as often as you would if you had a cage inside the house.
All in all i think they are wonderful pets and can truly make a wonderful addition to the family.
