We got Tziporah as a hand tamed baby. She was a very easy bird to work and to be with. She would sit on my shoulder and sit with me when I played the piano. We later got two lovebirds, one at a time and although Tziporah didn't interact with them she didn't seem to have any problems with them either. She was a sweet mannered bird that enjoyed our company. We had Tziporah for about 8 years but then had to give her up when we moved across the country. We gave her to a friend and she adapted very well to her new home.

I highly recommend a cockatiel as a pet, especially as a first bird pet. And I especially recommend obtaining a baby that has been either hand fed or hand tamed.
