When I was growing up my mom owned several cockatiels. These birds were all extremely friendly and easy to train. They loved company and though we kept their wings clipped they were aloud to freely roam our house. Word to the wise, if you allow your bird to be friendly with predators like cats in your house, don't be surprised if it gets eaten if it flies over the back fence. That is how we lost one of our birds. It got outside and said hello to the neighbors cat. This bird does have the ability to mimic sounds but should it get neglected or decide it is not getting it's way it will scream and screech which can be very annoying and very effective.
