I have had a cockatiel for about 12 years now. Amazing birds, they can live for many years if treated well and looked after.

These birds are extremely social and love to perch on things such as your shoulders and fingers. They love to be tickled on their head and will often nibble at you (doesn't hurt) for tickles. They are extremely smart and can be taught a lot of tricks, ours knew how to speak and dance.

Although we did not let it fly free, they can be territorial, the wings were always clipped as other birds used to sit on it's cage.

These birds are really smart and can repeat words/noises so be careful what you say around it haha. Ours picked up doorbell and phone noises, as well as coughing noises.

Great, friendly bird that will grow up with you.
