Homie, my yellow cockatiel will always hold a special place in my heart. He was my first pet, and yes I actually named him myself. He was very active and if we were home, he was most likely out of the cage roaming the house or bouncing around the kitchen. He was also very vocal while in his cage and rock it almost as if he was trying to break free. He was not high maintenance at all. He loved his bird seed, loved his swing and really the only mess he made was the fallen seeds and poop directly under where his cage hung in the corner of our kitchen. At night we simply covered the cage and in the morning uncovered it again. He enjoyed baths very much. I remember Homie as bringing so much joy into our home, always singing and entertaining in our kitchen. Definitely a great pet for kids to start out with!
