The Thing about Cockatiels

My cockatiels were very beautiful birds. They weren't very easy to care for, though. Parrots in general require a lot of attention. They need a large enough cage that is at least double the size of their wingspan. They need an adequate environment to be in, for example, they can't be kept in or near the kitchen because spray cleaners and non-stick pans/cooking equipment have chemicals toxic to parrots. They can't be left alone in their cage for too long, otherwise they'll start picking and biting at their feathers and could hurt themselves.Their diet is easy to comply with since it is mainly composed of fruits, nuts and pellets. And they can be very noisy, so consider what kind of household/neighborhood environment you're living in before considering having a parrot as a pet.

Unless you are a bird trainer or are aspiring to be one, and you have the free time to dedicate yourself to your parrot, I wouldn't recommend it as a pet for a quiet and comfortable household environment.
