Cockatiels are loving birds

Cockatiels are wonderful birds to own. They are social creatures by nature, and love to fly around and get scratches on the head. Occasionally they may poop on your should, but its pretty easy to clean.

Due to their social nature, it can be easy to scare and even traumatize them. My Cockatiels actually lost its mate and it was never the same since. They can pick up neurotic habits like picking their feathers off, so be sure to take care of their emotional health as well as the physical.

They also like to stick their heads through the bars of their cage if they can; which can lead to unfortunate accidents. They do tend to have favorite people, and they will get defensive over them.

While they take some effort, if you have the time and energy to love this bird, it will love you back and then some.
