Acquired: Pet store

I owned a pair of cockatiels that we had gotten from the pet store some years back. They were a male and female that lived in the same cage. Our main problem was that they were so vocal!!! We could not readily know what to do about how much and how often they would make noise! I suppose maybe growing up in a pet store, they are not taught to not be so vocal?
We didn't really let them out to fly around very much, and when we did it would be in a room with the door closed. They were more attached to eachother than they were to us. We never really got the feeling of being connected with them, since it appeared to be that they were happy on their own.
The birds themselves were lovely creatures on the outside. I think the core reason of our bad experience was that we did not receive them when they were young and that we had gotten a pair instead of just one. We soon had to give them away and I've not idea what has happened to them now. This was probably an abnormal experience but it can still happen to many people, I feel.
