My family has had our bird, Consuela, for over 6 years. While we initially thought Consuela was female, he turned out to be a male! However, the name stuck. He is very playful and mimics some sounds ("pretty bird" and "hello"). He can also whistle a few tunes. He occasionally gets kind of loud and squawky, but that usually means he has not gotten enough attention. He definitely favors a select few people in the family, and will nip at strangers if they put their fingers in the cage, but is not too aggressive and his bites aren't very hard.

Consuela picked up on whistling tunes easily, especially when he was younger. The more he was handled, the better he got with being picked up and being around people without being nervous. He is a very lovable bird, and a great pet for someone who wants something with a bet less maintenance than a dog.
