Our Cockatiel Palka, named after his polka dots (which my sister called Palka Dotes as a child) is an incredibly lively and vocal bird. I'm his old aw he has stayed beautiful and bright, and loved to sit on your shoulder and fly around the house. Palka had been trained at a young age by out friend who had owned many birds, and can now say select phrases such as "hello pretty baby," and whistle Yankee Doodle. He is quite loud, but Very affectionate and loves to nibble on ears and run his beak on your lips. I believe his health, old age, and demeanor has a lot to do with his training at a young age, so I would recommend a trained cockatiel to anyone, as they make great alternatives to furry pets for a family or a single individual looking for a lot maintenance companion.
