I rescued the bird from neighborhood kids who were keeping her in a box. So naturally, for awhile she was very afraid of me and the rest of my family. After spending plenty of time with my mother during the day she was very friendly. She was especially fond of neck rubs, and would come up to you and put her head down when she wanted one. So I assume she would have had no problem at all being trained if I had known how to do so. We let her roam the house for the most part, and she spent most of the day sitting on the back of my moms office chair as she worked. She was not a very vocal bird, which was good for us. Sadly she died when a friend of the family's dog attacked her. She was the first bird I owned, and I highly enjoyed having her as a pet. I would recommend this bird to anyone wanting a low maintenance companion.
