Growing up, we tried our hand at having some birds. It started with wanting one but quickly became four. Our Cockatiel, Maggie was one of the many and probably one of the best.

Originally she was suppose to my mom's pet, but it became very clear that I was the only one that could handle her.

All in all she was a happy bird, singing whatever sounds she could mimic when she was on her own or wanted attention. She was happy to just sit on a shoulder while you went around your business. She quickly took to step-up, whistles and clucks.

In the end, maybe if we just had her we would have been okay, but there were just too many birds, too much noise and constant chaos. We ended up finding a friend of the family that had a nice big farm house and wanted four very energetic birds as companions. I feel like there they could have the attention that they needed. We were just too young, the sister and I, and the parents didn't have the time.
