I won't attempt to hide it; I absolutely love cockatiels. I've had a particularly good experience with my pearled cockatiel, Honeycomb. I got her at from a local breeder, who took excellent care of her and taught her to step up. Since she was hand-fed, she was very friendly and took a liking to me right away. Unfortunately, I was short-sighted enough to not socialize with other people. Now, she has some attachment issues and a little separation anxiety. She also tends to act weird right before she starts laying, which sometimes means avoiding her chosen nesting area. Oddly enough, she will let me in her nest once she's laid her eggs. Though Honeycomb and I have our differences, we're the best of friends. All in all, I'm very pleased with my cockatiel. I recommend this breed to anyone who's looking for a first bird and a forever friend!
