My Cockatiel

When I first received my cockatiel, I bought it from a pet store, and paid quit a bit more for this one as I was told that it had been carefully hand reared, upon receiving the bird, i had initially bought it for my younger brother who was 5 years old at the time, in the beginning the bird was acting as if he were hand reared, but as a week or two passed he started to be naughty, biting me quit hard on more than one occasion, the more attention I tried to give the more he did'nt not want to be near me, I think he was angry for being in a new place and not receiving all the attention all the time, like when he had been hand reared, but as the weeks turned into months, I began talking to him as if he were human and as if he could understand everything that i was saying, its quit funny how his behavior started to change, I would tell him every detail f the day, like when leaving for work, i would actually tell him how many hours i would be, and how when i got back i would let him out of his cage to fly around the house, giving him his special time, i must say that ever since this time he has no bit me once again, and we have an understanding but quiet communication between us. This bird can portray very stubborn and rude behavior, but it is often because it cant communicate any other way, I would definitely say this bird is for ages 8 and up.
