Great pet for people who love birds

Our Cockatiel was given to us by a close friend who had to move somewhere where she couldn't have any pets. She has been with us for about 6 years and has been a fun addition to the family.

She has vibrant feathers and is mostly friendly with everyone. Occasionally she pecks at your hands when approached, but nothing too aggressive. This would be okay for older children, but children under 8 years might be scared of or hurt by the pecking.

She is very smart and has learned to mimic different sounds like the phone ringing, noises from the tv, and has learned the catcall whistle and smaller little tunes. She was taught to start singing along with you if you start whistling one of the little tunes she knows, which is very cute. Sometimes she randomly does her "catcall" whistle as you walk by which is entertaining for everyone.

She loves to be let out of her cage and fly around the house ( supervised, of course), and will land on your shoulder and hang out with you while you do chores or watch tv.

This is great pet for people who love birds- very trainable, friendly, and fun to work with.
