I've known several cockatiels through the years. Some bite, some are quite sensitive, some yell or act out aggressively, but, just as with children, it's all in how you raise them. Popeye was a very sweet boy always happy to extend the back of his neck for a good scratchin'. He was always willing to get on my finger and take a ride on my shoulder. We were good friends. He did his best of mimic me as well and was so fun to have around. I loved him very much. I've known several wonderful cockatiels and would highly recommend one. I would just make sure you read up on them and I wouldn't recommend one for children under 8 as you have to have a certain level of maturity with them or you could hurt their feelings and damage them for years to come accidentally and unknowingly. You must be gentle and understand them to a certain degree.
