My cockatiel, Pretty, was very lovable even though I was her second or third owner. She came to me because the previous people got a dog that was trying to kill her. So not knowing anything about them I took it because she was so friendly. After reading up on the subject I found out that they can be very dedicated to one person in the family. Well Pretty loved everybody! She ate cereal with my husband every morning and took naps cuddled up with me in the afternoon. My brother-in-law came from Germany and didn't speak any English and she cuddled up to him as well! I don't recommend them for small children as they are nervous around alot of noise and activity and children do not move sedately enough. For a two or three owner bird, she really thought that she was human so I got lucky. The only thing that I can say negative is about birds in general, they get very noisy very early in the morning, so if you like to sleep in birds are not your best choice!
