A cockatiel is a wonderful bird to own. They are very affectionate, and love company. I had Peter for twelve wonderful years. He was easy to care for, his health was great, and he loved to be with me. The only drawback for me was he liked to scream at dawn, and this could be disturbing to those not used to it. He also was a very protective bird, and would launch himself at people who seemed intent on coming close to me. He also loved honey bells and treats, and when I went shopping, he always came to see what I had for him. He also ate small bits of carrots and potatoes, and when I was preparing dinner, he would always come to check out if I had anything for him. He was a fantastic bird, easy to care for and to love.
