Harvey; a bird with the heart of a dog

I had always thought birds were fascinating creatures but usually just watched them from the balcony while I had my morning coffee. I never thought about actually owning one as a pet until last year. I had decided I wanted a low maintenance pet for easy care company and after meeting a breeder adopted Harvey, my cheerful yellow cockatiel. When I brought Harvey home he didn't even have all his feathers yet and I had to hand feed him for around 3 weeks; what a crazy experience. Harvey would let me know he was ready for his meal by loudly squawking and you can believe I was right there with my dropper to satisfy his appetite. Today he makes a great companion, sitting on my shoulder while I work from my home office and whistling along with me to our favorite tune; we'll it's actually his favorite rendition of row, row, row your boat. Harvey has the personality of an adorable little feathered dog and I can't imagine life without him.
