My Cockatiels

I do not have photos of the birds that I owned because it has been many years ago. I did have a male and female that I raised eggs from and sold the baby birds. That had two the first time and one the second time and this was a fascinating experience. The bird I mentioned in this review was named Riley and he was extremely defiant for a bird. He would whistle loudly and screech. I have a feeling someone was probably mean to him before but this shows how easily birds can be affected by the temperament or treatment of their owners. I do not recommend these particular birds for children who are under 8 years of age because their bite can be pretty nasty if they are angry and their temperament is unpredictable even if they are well trained and friendly. If they are not, you could have a hunk of skin taken off which Riley did to me and my ex-husband a couple of times. The other two were sweet as could be but I still wouldn't trust them around young children. And the mess that birds create. Oh my! They seem to hurl their seed pods across the room when they are finished eating and they poop wherever they like. Consider this choice of a pet very deeply before purchase. Cockatiels take time and patience.
