Catalina Macaw's are fairly inconsistent in behavior probably because they are a hybrid. They can sometimes but rarely be as friendly and inquisitive as blue gold macaw's and as solitary or violently noisy as scarlets. I do like their color variation which is very helpful if you have more than one for identification purposes. I highly recommend interacting with them frequently, I've had experience's where they have not been getting full attention they rebel and almost throw a tantrum and will actually seem like they unlearn what you have taught them out of anger.
