Calico Macaw - Cali

By

San Antonio, Texas, United States

I acquired CALI as a baby right after Hurricane Katrina on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.  He became a refugee with me to San Antonio TX.  Having him was a great comfort as I'd had to leave behind, give away, and sell my other beloved pet parrots.  Cali was the first Calico Macaw I'd ever seen - still is.  I had a Blue & Gold and a Scarlet Macaw before.  By comparison, I find that Cali has a larger range of speech and song mimicking skills.  He is sweet-natured and since acquiring him 2005, he has only ever bitten me once - which any Macaw owner can tell you is pretty amazing!
