Budgies are wonderful creatures to own and to work with. They're fun and they're vocal, but not too vocal, and they only have eyes for you. However, they're social animals who love and need companionship, whether it's you or another Budgie. Don't be distraught, however, if your Budgie takes up with another Budgie over you.
It's easy to overwhelm yourself with these beautiful birds if you're not careful or if you jump in too fast. I found myself in the possession of a sweet, beautiful blue and white Budgie and loved him so much that my collection quickly grew to three of them. However, two of them formed a relationship and began not only ignoring me but the other Budgie as well, even going so far as to bully him, forcing me to acquire another cage.
Despite the anti-social behaviour towards me and the other Budgie, however; I still enjoyed owning them and training them. They're fun and amazing to talk to, to watch, to bond with, and to teach. However, if you're the kind of person who gets attached to animals easily, Budgies may not be for you as they have short life spans.
