I've been owning both these budgerigars for around 8 months now and I'm satisfied with both of them. It was the idea of my girlfriend to get them and I didn't know what there is that could be against that decision. We keep both the birds in our bedroom and that is kind of a problem because the birds can be very talkative and won't stop chirping for a while. Especially when listening to music they won't ever think of a break! But that's what comes along with owning these birds.
Therefore I think their activity is almost always on a very active level. They're playful, very talkative, very hungry and they also like to fly around in the room. They can't even stop flying around in their cage and that's where I think is that one downside: Getting rid of their feathers that lie on the ground. It surely is not much work but it happens way too often.
Other than that I want to say that I've also had great experiences whenever we had guests coming to us and never have I seen any of the birds get sick or look out of shape.
If a lot of chirping does not annoy you, just go ahead and get these birds yourselves! I don't regret it.
