Budgie's are very lovely birds, and are very fun to own. They spread happiness throughout the entire home. If trained, they can learn to talk with you. This takes time, but it is definitely worth it. I fell in love with my birds, and they became a member of the family.
The downside to owning a bird such as a budgie is that they are very smelly if their cage isn't cleaned regularly, and will poop around the house if you let them fly freely. Which means if you want to let your bird out of its cage, you have to keep a very close eye on it. They are also quite messy.
Also, you have to clip their nails on a regular basis, which is rather time consuming. In my opinion, having a bird such as a budgie is hard work. You need to be willing to take the time out of your day to properly care for it, as they are quite high maintenance. If you can do this, then owning a bird can be like having a new friend to talk to, one that is loyal, and can fit right on your shoulder!
